Mechanism of Action:
Bromfenac: A highly potent, topically active nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that halts the cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymatic pathways. The addition of a bromine atom enhances ocular tissue penetration (aqueous humor and target ciliary body) to effectively block prostaglandin biosynthesis, preventing prostaglandin-mediated miosis, hyperalgesia, and blood-aqueous barrier breakdown.
Management of post-surgical anterior segment inflammation
Reduction of ocular pain following ophthalmic surgery
