Luboptho NAC Eye Drops

Therapy/Class: Lubricant

Mechanism of Action:
Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC): An anionic mucoadhesive polymer that binds precisely to the corneal surface. It drastically increases tear film break-up time (TBUT) and provides a durable, cytoprotective, hydrating shield over compromised ocular tissues.

N-Acetylcarnosine: An ocular antioxidant prodrug that penetrates the cornea to protect the crystalline lens from oxidative stress and glycation.

Temporary relief of burning and irritation due to dryness of the eye
Protection against further irritation or as a tear substitute
