Mechanism of Action:

Azithromycin: A macrolide antibiotic that binds tightly to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacterial pathogens, thereby impeding microbial mRNA translation and protein synthesis. It demonstrates significant lipophilicity, resulting in extended intracellular penetration and sustained sub-MIC tissue concentrations in conjunctival and lid margins.
