Gatoptho P Eye Drops

Composition: Gatifloxacin 0.3% w/v + Prednisolone 1% w/v

Therapy/Class: Antibiotic + Corticosteroid

Mechanism of Action:

Prednisolone: A standard-of-care topical corticosteroid that binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, modulating DNA transcription to inhibit edema, fibrin deposition, capillary dilation, leukocyte migration, and phagocytic activity associated with acute ocular inflammation.

Gatifloxacin: An 8-methoxy fluoroquinolone characterized by dual-target inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase IV. It demonstrates excellent corneal penetration and broad-spectrum coverage, effectively eradicating common conjunctival and corneal isolates.
